I think I can speak for everyone when I say that the ShireFit socials are always an epic occasion!
They are so important to the community, as it brings us all together and allows you to meet people you wouldn’t necessarily see at the box.
We’ve had a whole different range of socials in the past and they have all been varied and interesting! Whether it be booking out a whole restaurant to cater for the ShireFit masses or popping over to Box End Lake to attack the waterpark, we’ve had it all. We are always looking for different ideas and things to do. If there are any socials you think would work for ShireFit please contact us and we’ll look to add it in as soon as possible!

- Numerous Meals
- Boxing (Watching)
- Ice Skating
- Christmas Meals and many more
As well as all of these epic socials we have also had charity days.
We love these days as it brings us all together to raise money for amazing causes. Last week we had the ShireFit Summer Celebration! It was a huge success and so much fun for everyone. Well done and thank you to everyone that came down, joined in and supported one another! Most importantly one day where we all got together and had some fun and raised a total of £1200!
This weekend we also have Cycle 4 Cynthia!
Last year was an awesome event where we had 37 members participate and raise money for an amazing cause! This year……. we have 70 people!! Unbelievable and we feel lucky to have such an incredible bunch of members (Especially Alex) and watch out for what Jack is carrying in his trailer this year.
There are so many benefits in attending as many of these socials as you can.
For one because we have so many amazing members it’s always a lot of fun with lots of laughs (unless Charlie attends). This is also an awesome opportunity to meet people you wouldn’t necessarily do in class.
Annoyingly, work can get in the way which means we can only train at certain times. It’s awesome to see that you all find the time to come into the box and chase some gains but that might mean you only meet people that usually attend that class (we can’t all be like Mike and attend every class during the week). So these socials are a great time to interact with people from different class times!
Because these socials are so varied and we like to try all different kind of activities it’s an awesome chance to try something different, something you wouldn’t necessarily do by yourself.
I know myself without these socials I probably would never have tried clay pigeon shooting, but we did it and it was awesome (especially to watch Amos try and shoot through the wrong eye).
These socials are also great for spending time with friends outside the gym.
Even though we are one strong community we have our friends that we are close to in the gym (aka ‘the squad’) and it’s always good to spend time with them doing something different and get to know them on a personal level.
This is also the time to do what we say quite often…. ‘Use Your Fitness’.
This is one of the best benefits as everything we do in the box is functional so these socials is where we can apply and you can see yourself doing activities you never thought you could before.
